CARNIVAL organisers have handed an early Christmas present to their village brownie group.

Warton Carnival presented a cheque for the sum of £500 to 1st Warton Brownies.

Angela Bant, chair of Warton Carnival, said: “We work hard all year fundraising for our annual carnival in June, and this year, after our successful 2024 Carnival, we’ve been able to give back to the local community, which is amazing and means a lot to us.

“Suggestions for recipients came from the committee then we voted and agreed the Brownies would be a deserving group.”

A Brown Owl said: “Thank you so much for this generous donation. It will make such a difference to the activities that we can plan for 2025.

“We are thinking about taking the girls to Magical Midlands, an exciting Girlguiding event, so we could use some of the money for the coach and a Brownie sleepover is another idea we are working on. Of course, we will also buy more glue sticks and felt pens! We are looking forward to taking part in the carnival next year.

“For anyone interested in their daughter joining this group, please email 1stwartonbrownies@gmail.com for details.”
